NORTHAW & CUFFLEY ANNUAL PARISH MEETING.
The Annual Parish Meeting for 2016 took place in Cuffley Hall on the evening of Friday 26th April. A variety of presentation included information about the progress in developing our Neighbourhood Plan, the Borough Council Local Plan, current Planning Applications for major housing developments, and an update from SCANGB. Councillors Sally Pollitt and Peter Dace provided details of the two key events planned for 3rd September this year – the Cuffley Village Day and the commemoration of Capt. William Leefe Robinson, who shot the airship which came down in Cuffley on 3rd September 1916. The audience were also entertained by our surprise guest singer, Elaine Dell.
SOPERS ROAD CAR PARK
As announced last year, a Card Only Pay and Display Ticket Machine has now been introduced in the Council’s Sopers Road Car Park. All Car Park Users are requested to pay by using either a Credit Card or a Debit Card in order to obtain a ticket, for display in the vehicle windscreen. A receipt is available if required. Please see below for further information.
With the change to Card Only payment, the charge for Saturday Parking was increase from
£1= to £2= as agreed by the Full Council in May 2015. All other charges remain unchanged.
DEMOLITION OF GARAGES REAR OF 17-17A STATION ROAD CUFFLEY STARTS:
The demolition of the Sheds and Garages at the rear of 17-17A Station Road started on 8th February 2016. This is in preparation for the erection of 5 dwellings and a take-away shop. The Parish Council objected to the Planning Application for this development on two separate occasions. Please see the extract from our Planning Applications Committee decisions below.
ANNUAL PARTY FOR THE NORTHAW & CUFFLEY OVER 60’s
Following the usual tradition, the Parish Council held the Annual Party for the over 60’s in Cuffley Hall from 3-00 p.m. on Thursday 14th January, with music, singing, dancing, refreshments, and a small gift.
There was no charge for attendance, but this event is only available residents who are over 60 years old, and live within the Parish.
I would like to thank all those who helped with the event, especially our singing duo Ken and Stella, who provided a variety of music and songs which were much appreciated by everyone.
